Will Health Care be provided in the slammer? If not will the jailers be jailed too?

Health care in jail is free. Makes more sense to do a crime and do some time so you don’t have to pay, eh?

I’m no fan of Obamapelosicare, but of all the arguments against it this one of the weakest.

We are all required to pay taxes that support police protection for all, fire protection for all, retirement benefits for all, medical coverage for the elderly, medical coverage for the poor, education for all, drinking water for all, sewage treatment for all, etc. etc. etc. If we don’t pay the taxes that support any of these things, we can go to jail. This is not news.

If you think adding “health coverage for all” to the above list is a bad idea, say so and make the argument. But pretending to be shocked over the fact that not paying your taxes can land you in jail is disingenuous at best.

This isn’t a weak argument. In essense you are a criminal if you do nothing. You go to work, live your life, don’t bother anyone, and you’re a criminal.

This is conceptually and philosophically way different than saying that everyone’s income taxes go up by 8% and you fund healthcare that way. This isn’t government taking a piece of economic activity, this is government dictating the tune and the dance you need to dance or you go to jail. When goverment can do this, they can dictate that you need to go to mandatory exercise classes or you pay a $10,000 fine and go to jail for 120 days. This is scary-a$$ crap.

I thought this was about providing health care for those who *can’t* get insurance. Why the strong-arming of those who *choose* not to have any?

I am old enough to remember when we were a free people. As we meekly cede more and more of our freedom to the lunatic Left, we will have no one to blame but ourselves when we wake up one day and realize that we are simply ciphers in an Orwellian world that we should have seen coming. Obamacare is part and parcel of that world, as is everything else our Dear Leader wants to impose upon us. It is, of course, and never has been, about health care. It is an unprecedented, historic attempt to expand the federal government and exert control over the most intimate and personal decisions we make concerning our own health care and that of our loved ones. As for me, the only person who will need counseling about his/her health care is the government flack who comes to “enlighten” me concerning my options under Obamacare.

And if you can’t afford the insurance and don’t pay any taxes because you are under the taxable income limit, will you still end up in jail? What if you are Christian Scientist and don’t believe in medical care? What if you live where very little medical care is available? Since they think doctors and hospitals are getting paid too much, and they plan to cut back that amount, RURAL HOSPITALS ALL OVER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD TO STAY OPEN. So, if you live in a rural area, there just may not be any medical care available. The whole thing is a big rip off. So what will they do if millions of people opt for jail?

Political Liberals and Theological Liberals.

Just Say No to both of them.

This whole regime, uh, administration is a big rip-off. Dishonesty, power, greed and evil are reigning without opposition.

However, it is God who raises up rulers and brings them down. He allows evil to arise and teach us a lesson when we do not love and follow Him.

God has allows Assyria/Babylon to rise up like a rod to discipline His people when they fall into idolatry and immorality.

As Leviticus passage above says: “If you do not keep my commandments ….and my covenant….I will set my face against you so that you will be defeated by your enemies; those who hate you will rule over you…”

There is no other God than the Father, Son, Holy Spirit. God chose to bring His Son for our redemption through Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Polluting the true Faith and Gospel with the religion of Cain, Babylon, Mohammed, Buddha, Baal, Molech, Mammon, the Eastern/Druid cults and the social gospel of Utopianism, as well as self worship, has gotten us into this fix.

The Church as a whole has dirty bloody hands and an unfaithful heart. Through the ages, she has allied and compromised herself with evil regimes. She has played the harlot with political powers to obtain power for herself over other Christians. She has fallen into seeking visions, revelations, signs and wonders, followed various subtle and fragile variations of doctrine and dogma, adding and subtracting from the Faith.
She is doing it still.

Losing our first love for Christ, we have lost our humanity and our families are shattered, our loyalties and thoughts are confused.

Judgment and repentance always begins with the household of faith.

Only humble repentance and a return to love and follow the True and Living Holy God of Truth, Love and Life will get us out.

Interesting to note that Nidal Hasan sat on Obama’s security panel: http://tweetalink.com/go/EBVW

At least the commentors there understand that Allah is not the Holy IAM – The Creator, Father; Messiah, Jesus Christ; Holy Spirit) the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, of Truth, Love and Life, the One who does not bruise a tender reed…who is forgiving, merciful, kind, gentle, loving, gracious, who teaches us to love our enemies.

I apologize.

The Nidal Hasan on the security panel may not be the same as the shooter…”It’s apparently not an uncommon name for Muslim men.” says one commentor at the site I linked.

Even more apologies, evidently the security task force was not Obama’s, but George Washington’s and took place from Apr 08- Jan 09.

Would that be George Bush, Whitestone?

Mark, this is not being sold as a tax increase. That at least would be honest. We are being told that this is to provide “health insurance” and that we will be required by law to purchase a product, health insurance, at a particular price and in a particular configuration mandated by the government. This is unprecedented and, I believe, unconstitutional. I hope it will be challenged in court immediately if passed.

According to the analysis, total cost including family deductible for a family earning $100,000 would be about $20,000 per year. My husband and I are currently covered by an employer insurance policy whose total cost and deductibles add up to about $16,000 per year. We’re not paying that total at this point, because the employer kicks in a bit over half of it. How long will the employer do so when it can simply dump us into the “public option” and save itself a lot of money? My husband and I are fortunate in that we can afford to pay this. How many people can? And is it, in your opinion, “fair” for a family to be required to pay 20% of its annual income towards health insurance and care? Keep in mind that $100K is not “rich” in many urban areas where living costs are high.

Katherine,
The blog said it was George Washington University.

It is disturbing to learn Hasan was on ANY homeland security panel. There were others with similar idealogy on the panel.

The House version of the health care bill has passed, apparently with an amendment to prohibit federal fund to be used for abortions.

Katherine

FW Ken, if this nightmare passes the Senate, that abortion clause will be stripped or neutralized in committee. No way these radicals are going to let it stand.

Sounds like the Episcopal Church. Promise them something to get them to vote for it, knowing that it will be taken away in the final version.

What we need is for this bill to fail!

Katherine

Allen Lewis, start emailing and calling Sen. Graham (R?-SC), and I’ll begin work on Sen. Hagan (D-NC). Senators need to understand people don’t want this.

FW Ken

I haven’t followed it as closely as I might have, but my understanding is that the electons last Tuesday were not a source of great cheer for the current administration. Can we expect a clear statement next November?

The Texas senators are both Republicans who would kill their careers by voting for Obamacare, but Kay Bailey Hutchinson is supposedly resigning to run for governor, so Texans may get a chance to make a statement anyway.

The Anglican Curmudgeon has put up a chilling post, ‘Putting It All Together’

Unless this country and the Western Church receives grace and has the will to repent, we are going to receive God’s wrath very soon.

Katherine

Actually, Allen Lewis, I see Sen. Graham says he will join Sen Lieberman in a filibuster for any bill that contains the “pubic option.” This is encouraging. The other question is whether liberals can be induced to vote for a final bill which still contains the Stupak amendment, and whether those who voted for the Stupak amendment would tolerate its watering down or removal. This turkey may be dead yet.
