That title, by the way, is supposed to be(but probably isn’t) a Chinese curse:
When France chides you for appeasement, you know you’re scraping bottom. Just how low we’ve sunk was demonstrated by the Obama administration’s satisfaction when Russia’s president said of Iran, after meeting President Obama at the U.N., that “sanctions are seldom productive, but they are sometimes inevitable.”
Don’t take it from me. Take it from [French President Nicolas] Sarkozy, who could not conceal his astonishment at Obama’s naïveté. On September 24, Obama ostentatiously presided over the Security Council. With 14 heads of state (or government) at the table, with an American president in the chair for the first time ever, with every news camera in the world trained on the meeting, it would garner unprecedented worldwide attention.
Unknown to the world, Obama had in his pocket explosive revelations about an illegal uranium-enrichment facility that the Iranians had been hiding near Qom. The French and the British were urging him to use this most dramatic of settings to stun the world with the revelation and to call for immediate action.
Obama refused. Not only did he say nothing about it, but, reports Le Monde, Sarkozy was forced to scrap the Qom section of his speech. Obama held the news until a day later — in Pittsburgh. I’ve got nothing against Pittsburgh, but a stacked-with-world-leaders Security Council chamber, it is not.
Why forgo the opportunity? Because Obama wanted the Security Council meeting to be about his own dream of a nuclear-free world. The president, reports the New York Times, citing “White House officials,” did not want to “dilute” his disarmament resolution “by diverting to Iran.”
Diversion? It’s the most serious security issue in the world. A diversion from what? From a worthless U.N. disarmament resolution?

Chamberlain had nothing on this guy. But where is the Churchill in all this ? Good grief it may just be a “Churchill” from the frozen north in a skirt!

Not original to me: this really is starting to look like Jimmy Carter’s second term.
October 3, 2009
Ken, by the time we’re done, Jimmy Carter is gonna look like a foreign policy genius.
October 3, 2009
Obituary – Churchill wasn’t a gem of a man, just the right man at the right time. As bad as things are now, I don’t think a Churchill is what we need. It may take a saint to get us out of this one.

What matters is talking nice. Like when Obama gave his speech at Notre Dame about abortion. Let’s talk nicely to each other about the topic of abortion.
Therefore, please extend to Obama the same courtesy and respect that Liberal Democrats gave to George W. Bush.

You get what you pay for. And sometimes even the PRes can’t deliver the Games, you know. And do not forget, unless there has been a raise, the Pres is making less now per annum than his wife did on certain Chicago hospital boards.
But an expression of his dreams……….come on! wet dreams have no place in international security. (Not that criticism from a French Pres without the cajones to bring up the subject on his own and force the issue is any great validation of naivete, in itself.)

He, almost, makes me ashamed of my country…
October 3, 2009
Barney…that is what Michelle said….save she didn’t insert “almost” she just flat said she was.
October 3, 2009
Oops forgot….But she is now proud of her country!

“Because Obama wanted the Security Council meeting to be about his own dream of a nuclear-free world.” This man actually believes he can put the atomic genie back in the bottle. It’s not going to happen. No he can’t. The press has been fawning over an idealistic but naive narcissist. Neither Obama or Carter has profited from corrective feedback. Let’s see him finesse his way out of the squeeze he’s in with Afghanistan. No he can’t.
October 3, 2009
And the band and the press played on.
October 3, 2009
Too bad none of them can play in tune… Michelle Obama Kathy Jeffers-Scary… What’s the difference? Michelle has more expensive clothing?
October 3, 2009
Where can I get a real live poster of the graphic above?
October 3, 2009
Dittos on Barney’s request about the poster…and way off topic – what is the blue & white flag below Don’t Tread on Me?
October 3, 2009
The blue and white flag is the flag of Honduras. (Right-click on the flag, click Properties on the menu, and notice the URL. Of course, if you’re a Mac user, the sequence may be different, and you may be completely, totally and utterly screwed.)
And you can get a T-shirt with that flag on it here:

But, to paraphrase some of his defenders, “at least he can pronounce nuclear.”
October 4, 2009
See… if ya’all had a good Social Studies Teachers in school, you would know what Honduras’s flag looked like.
October 4, 2009
Chris… does anyone you know of have the graphic in a shirt etc?
October 4, 2009
Muchas Gracias to Trespinos and Chris and apologies to Barney. Much of my social studies on Latin America would have been pre-Che.

Chamberlain had nothing on this guy
Chamberlain? You mean the guy who actually declared war on Nazi Germany in 1939. As against the US who only joined in over TWO YEARS LATER?. Chamberlain, who was personally responsible for the policy of equipping the RAF, thus leading directly to the UK’s victory in the Battle of Britain – all while slowly dying of cancer.
If only Obama was Chamberlain.
As for Iraq, nothing there a bunch of TLAM-Ns or ALCM-N, or B61s if we want to risk the aircrew won’t fix. And if the US won’t step up, be sure Israel will!

Sinner,
We have a far better inventory of special weapons than that, don’t forget those pesky little things sitting in Wyoming… ICBMs in the Fall, how quaint, yet classy.
As we used to say @ Whiteman AFB, in the bad old days, Nuc’em till they glow
That’s our boy Barry! All style and no substance. But peopel were trying to get that word out before the elections last November. But no one, especially the Main Stream Narcissists, wanted to hear that. They were too smitten with his Style, his Charm, his Elan, and the ecstasy of having a Black John F Kennedy to write about.
Barry’s style may mimic Kennedy’s, but he is far from being Kennedy’s intellectual equal. At least Kennedy recognized that the Soviets were not our friends.
Barney,
A graphic of what? The Honduran flag? I just bought three of them. The shirt is actually a little darker than it appears in the picture but I think it still looks pretty good.
October 5, 2009
Chris,
I think he means the “Dear Lord” poster.
Here’s one on a coffee mug.
http://www.cafepress.com/thechrisstore.401404744
If that turns out okay, I’ll play around with it and see if I can put it on other stuff.
October 6, 2009
Please don’t tell me how incredibly dense I am, because I already know that. However, I cannot place the logo on the “Dear Lord” poster. It looks familiar, but will someone please clue me in?
Thanks in advance for your kind indulgence.
