OBAMA LIED

Your bank account died:

A $9 trillion federal deficit over 10 years may be too hard to comprehend. But this part is easy: Such unwieldy amounts of debt could have an impact on Americans’ bottom line one way or the other — if not tomorrow, then the day after.

The U.S. government has been spending a great deal more than it has been taking in, and it is on track to do so well beyond the next 10 years. It has been borrowing money to make all that spending possible and it has to pay the money back with interest. How, you ask? By borrowing more.

The solution is straightforward if unpleasant: Shy of finding a fairy willing to leave trillions under Uncle Sam’s pillow, lawmakers will have to raise taxes and cut spending.

“Taxes are going up and they’re going up for a lot more people than those making more than $250,000. Why? Math. The numbers don’t come close to working,” Walker said.

Hangeyness and chopeytude, ladies and gentlemen.

The infrastructure (bridges and dams) will need some money soon. Transfigurations posted an article that said 2000 dams out of 85,000 in the US were in serious need of repair.
People with sense, honor and love for this country need to nudge or kick these people out of Washington asap.

To be fair, previous spending wasn’t Obama’s fault though.

Muerknz,
You are perfectly correct. But Mr. Obama is certainly not helping things to get better. He, of all people, should be calling on his party to discipline themselves and do what is right. Instead, he is trying to pass a bloated, bureaucratic, massive spending enterprise disguised as “Health Care Reform”. It is as if he is doing his best to bankrupt this country.

The issue is that Congress as a whole (yes, I am generalizing) has been on a spending spree in hopes of keeping the individual members in office by buying our votes with taxpayer-funded handouts for various special interest groups.

We need to kick all these irresponsible children out of office, take away their cushy retirement packages and tell them to deal with it like the rest of us will have to.

Much as I hate it, taxes will have to go up. Otherwise this country is doomed.

“We need to kick all these irresponsible children out of office, take away their cushy retirement packages and tell them to deal with it like the rest of us will have to.”

Excellent point, Allen. I think we need to amend the constitution to limit the number of terms senators and representatives can serve.

I have read that Obama has spent more in his first partial year of office than a bunch of previous administrations put together. Since China isn’t interested in loaning us any more money (they can sense a bad debt) we (the Fed) are now “monetizing” the debt, which means printing money like crazy. So, I figure any money I have saved is going to be worthless in a few years, and I might as well spend it now while it will still buy something. Then it will be belt tightening time for everyone.

Oh, please! To be equally fair, no administration has EVER committed us to so much debt so quickly in the history of the US. Compute it any way you want, dollar amount, per centage of GNP, percentage of national budget, you name it, these guys are the champs.

And those who voted for him and didn’t see it coming are the chumps.

This year’s deficit is more than twice the deficit of the last Bush year. Blaming this on Bush doesn’t work if you look at facts. I opposed the domestic spending of the Bush years and I oppose this debacle even more.

Keep in mind that the $9 trillion figure does not include the health-care and cap-and-trade bills currently before Congress. Those will make the deficits much, much worse.

Whether they saw it coming or not, these chumps are enablers of the harm that Obama and his administration is doing.

Muerknz,

Obama’s plans will incur more debt than all previous administrations combined. ALL of them. Back to 1789.

He has already added more to the deficit than GWB did in eight years.

Here, TU&D, you’re wrong. Obama told us the total and complete truth on the subject of unborn babies.

Obama has never claimed to be anti-abortion, supported abortion on demand as an Illinois legislator and U.S. Senator, and opposed the Illinois version of the bill which would have required babies born alive to be given medical treatment. This means he has been clear about his position. I assume that’s what Mark Windsor means.

People who voted for Obama should have looked up ‘change’ in a Thesaurus or dictionary.

Here are the synonyms in my crossword dictionary: emasculate, castrate, mutate, desexualize, geld, replace, invert, switch, aberration.

BTW – I don’t believe it is possible to spend that much money that fast. They haven’t had time to design and implement any bonafide programs yet.

What is really going on is more like the takeover and pillaging of a conquered country.

This whole economy crisis is a charade and a macro-heist…just like the takeover of the TEC by the sexualists.

Yep and if Senate Bill S773 is not stopped in its tracks, the Obamabots are poised to take over the internet as well as private computer networks in the name of “cybersecurity”, which is another name for just another power grab by the increasingly megalomaniac president and his henchmen. Talk about jackbooted thugs!

If the Current Encumbrance gets his whole program through, private ownership of ANYTHING will be a crime.

Whitestone’s correct. There’s much more going on here than debt – it’s a means to an end. Read Alinsky if you want to know why he’s deliberately bankrupting us.

This year’s deficit is more than twice the deficit of the last Bush year. Blaming this on Bush doesn’t work if you look at facts. That’s mostly because the economy tanked and the tax receipts are all down, down, down. And because, in my lifetime, the only president who came close to not only balancing the budget, but actually paying back debt – was Clinton. Not Reagan, not Bush I, not Bush II, none of the others.

Clinton. Most fiscally responsible US president since World War I.

Whereas China has always had a balanced budget, doesn’t run deficits, doesn’t have a welfare system and even healthcare is paid for by the people who need it. Compared with the way the US is today, even under Bush, the US is communist and China is capitalist. Not surprising the Chinese economy is still growning rapidly, where the real question about the US economy is: is this the deepest recession since the 1930s, or is this the final end of America as an economic superpower.

My husband and I lost friends when, before the election, we told Obama supporters their taxes would go up. “No!” they cried. “That’s not true!” I’m not holding my breath until we receive their apology, although they might yet surprise me.

Has anyone seen an economist or other pundit put out an estimate of how much extra in tax per family we’d have to pay to support BarryCare? Yes, I know we don’t have a bill yet, but we have “ideas.” Folks need to know how many bucks a month this is gonna cost ‘em. I remember the tax rate when I lived in England and I’m not looking forward to the 15% leap in personal income tax.
