CRANKY

Donald Trump is officially the President of the United States of America and quite a few folks on the left are not at all happy campers.  Most of them, though, are nowhere near as unhappy as one Charles Walz of New York who will definitely not be invited to this year’s MCJ Christmas party.

I’m not sure why he thinks he’d get his wish, because he is probably a secular materialist.

I have strong reservations about people being fired or disciplined at work for personal Facebook posts. This demented guy’s threats are probably not worth taking seriously. The question should be whether he’s off the edge at work.

I wasn’t a Trump guy. He was like #14 of 15 Republican nominees on my list this cycle. But he won the nomination and the election, so I’m pulling for him.

I was even sort of pulling for Obama, that his actions would meet his rhetoric, but he went all “I won” and basically did a cram down for his first 2 years. It was his right, given how the legislative races went in 2008, but instead of “There are no red states and blue states” he pretty much went all blue shutting Republicans out of everything.

Please, I PRAY they become total mob rule, blocking highways, spray painting everything in sight and just becoming pure pains in the butt for 4 years. Do the Trump=Hitler deal 24/7. PLEASE. Guarantee Trump’s re-election by a landslide.

First off a technical quibble – The Donald is only President-elect officially. After all of the Leftist hystronics, and following last weeks revelation that Hillary blew $1.2 billion to lose the election, I am convulsing with laughter that more electors abandoned her than Trump. Wow, when the Clinton’s lose, they really go down in flames!

This is what happens when post-modernism smacks into reality. The left regards Trump as a myth that trumped their preferred truth, instead of a case of the adults finally saying “enough of this crap” and yanking the credit cards.

For a while one could reasonably ask how over-the-top a Leftist incitement to violence would have to be before Facebook stepped in and pulled the account. Especially given its history of axing right-wing FB users for much less.

Walz’s post apparently is gone, but who and how did it get pulled because it seems to have simply disappeared without explanation, which isn’t good enough.

TEC Blogger Lionel Deimel is not a happy camper:

Mr Walz is going to have to change his name, address and
job if he wants any peace after publishing this.

Marie Blocher, I am frequently astonished at what people will post on public sites like Facebook. Do they really think no one will notice? Maybe thinking is not part of the equation.

Some people forget the rule about engaging the brain before opening the mouth.

It’s not clear what time of day that was posted (the screen grab just says “5 hrs ago”). To me, that has “late at night, with a bottle of bourbon more empty than full at one’s elbow” written all over it. Many of us have been there! though hopefully few have posted anything quite as vile as that. I’m with Katherine: I’m not happy with personal FB posts being made the basis for firing someone. If this guy (a) apologises without reservation and (b) makes clear that, in the sober light of day, he bears no ill-will towards Trump voters (no matter how fiercely he may disagree with them), let alone their families, that should be the end of the matter.

Most people learn, by high school, to do their pouting in private, and to accept defeat in public.

While Trump’s cabinet picks are for the most part very promising he hasn’t done anything yet to enact policy so we will have to wait to see what kind of Presidency he gives us. But THIS thing he has done: he has won, and in his victory he has driven the liberals truly mad.

Nothing could dispel reservations I have about Trump faster than the raving lunacy and desperate unhinged hypocritical fits of fear and loathing displayed by these enlightened defenders of democracy. The mask is dropping and they don’t know how or just don’t care to behave like adults. They are now revealed in all their awfulness, and there’s something deeply satisfying about it.

I’m sure the Germans could come up with a word for this if they didn’t have their hands full right now.

Well, there is this piece about how thoroughly the Donald won over at StandFirm – http://www.standfirminfaith.com/?/sf/page/32261

I enjoyed reading it.

Christopher Hathaway, I voted for him, although with some reservations. As the campaign wound down and the Democrats became so insulting of their opposing constituents, my reservations were waning, and his Cabinet appointments in general are making me very happy. He, and they, will have to deliver, and so will Congress, but so far, so good.

Thanks for your excellent comment.

Now if, like the Gadarene Swine, these people could be persuaded to go jump in a lake…..

“I’m sure the Germans could come up with a word for this if they didn’t have their hands full right now.”

What, taking enjoyment from someone’s misfortune? Schadenfreude. But they don’t have anything interesting for Trump Derangement Syndrome.

WTF, I had schadenfreude in mind but it is more than that. I am talking about the (somewhat) righteous pleasure of seeing the wicked unwittingly tell the truth about themselves by their inability to be good losers.

It is like having a romantic rival who you know to be a cad and a momentary defeat causes him to act churlishly toward the woman you want, ensuring that she NEVER considers his attention again.

I’d love to think that the electorate will NEVER put Democrats/progressives back in charge, but I’m not counting on it.
