DUCKS IN A ROW

Mary Ann Ramer of New York Squared will be just fine with an Anglican covenant as soon as the rest of the Anglican world catches the hell up:

Thank you, Presiding Bishop, for your great good sense! Not only has the entire concept, structure and justification (theological, political, and mission-centric) for the so-called Anglican Covenant not been in the least clarified, but the basic WHY of such a binding document on the Anglican Communion has to date never been established.

It’s because your pseudo-spiritual organization gave a pointy hat to an unrepentant sinner and changed 2,000 years of Christian teaching without so much as a by-your-leave.  Pay attention, dimwit.

Given the glacial progress that has been made in achieving equal dignity for women, for persons of color,

Like Peter Akinola?  Henry Orombi?  They’re archbishops, you know.

and for those who have other than a heterosexual orientation,

It’s like I keep saying.  Eventually, Robbie’s not going to be optional.

let alone the Communion’s response to the Millennium Development Goals,

Peace and blessings be upon them.

the “progress” of the Covenant through our ranks feels like paper shoved down our throats. Let’s not get stampeded!

Speaking of getting “stampeded” and having stuff “shoved down our throats,” now you know how a lot of us felt in 2003, M.

Look, even if TEc formally rejects the Anglican Covenant in 2020 (or later), the liberal revisionist officeholder sitting in the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury at that time will declare that TEc is still a formal member of the Anglican Communion, albeit of a strained nature. TEc will still get Lambeth invites.

Remember how +++Rowan declared 9/30/07 was not a firm date for compliance with Dar Es Salaam?

Signing onto the Anglican Covenant won’t be a requirement for Anglican Communion membership either. The ABC doesn’t have the requisite courage to boot out a heretical, apostate province.

Besides, TEc should just sign the Covenant anyway and blatantly violate it. There’s no enforcement. Look at all the same-sex blessings and liturgies being planned. The Anglican Communion is just a rotten, stinking stench in Christendom.

I just love it when Episcopalians talk about mission, passing over the fact that their dying sect is toxic to whatever it touches. It’s true they “give a man a fish” from time to time, when they have some to spare from their world-hopping meetings in nice resorts. But c’mon folks, the world is full of social work agencies that do more and do it better.

Every single time I read the comments from Episcopal “Life” I never fail to wonder what has happened to all those vaunted “thinking” Anglicans who don’t leave their brains at the church door. They must be leaving them somewhere!

I’ve got a “rough” proposal for an “Anglican Covenant” that has everything you’re looking for:

It may have one or two things you’re not… lol

Oh and BTW, someone should inform Mary Ann the “Presiding Bishop” is a title but not a form of address. The truly proper form of address for an Anglican bishops is “Sir” or “Madame.” Anglo-catholics love to twitter about Your Excellency or Your Grace. In this case, my personal preference is “Yo, bit#h!”

Just your typical uneducated, unchatechized and unrepentant Episcopal nut job. They do so like to preen!

Errrrm, that would be “uncatechized”

Sorry!

“Glacial progress” on the MDGs? I say we fix that right now: Gang bang the MDGs!

Tom (St Louis) — Two things:

First, a true bishop would never be addressed as Madame unless he’s in drag.

Second, which one, or both?
