BALLGAME, THANKS FOR PLAYING
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009 | Uncategorized
Homosexual Bishop Gene Robinson, who is a homosexual, was recently NOT in whatever it is that he’s supposed to be the homosexual bishop of(yeah, I know, homosexual dog bites homosexual man, homosexual water is homosexually wet, etc) and had the following homosexual comments about the formation of the Anglican Church in North America:
A new North American group claiming to embrace “traditional Anglican values” will not last long, the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop has predicted.
Bishop Gene Robinson, an openly homosexual man living openly with a partner, whose 2003 consecration as bishop of the diocese of New Hampshire created a backlash among traditional believers within the U.S., church, told Ecumenical News International he does not believe the new Anglican grouping has long-term viability.
“A church that does not ordain women or openly gay people – I don’t see a future for that,” Robinson told ENI after delivering a sermon on 28 June at the First Presbyterian Church in New York City during the city’s annual gay pride festivities.
Roman Catholic Church? Eastern Orthodoxy? You’ve had good runs. Lord knows, you’ve provided us all with some kick-ass art and hymns over the years. But the future belongs to a “church” with more bishops than parishioners. Suck it up and deal with it.
Homosexual.

I am sure the gay pride parade was a spiritual event….

Wow, He’s homosexual?!!
I think this is your favorite comment to make here, Chris: “Homosexual Bishop Gene Robinson who is homosexual…”
I have to say, it does make me laugh, but I may have an odd sense of humor. :^)
June 30, 2009
Look even if one assumes – solely for the sake of argument – that the Church (defined however) should ordain women and people in same-sex relationships…
Which I do not agree with…
But Robinson is just out of touch with reality if he thinks orthodox/traditional churches have no future and organizations like TEC do.
TEC is dying. Hard cold fact. The Orthodox Church is not. Ordaining women and persons in same-sex relationships does not appear to result in a thriving healthy organization (“church”).
June 30, 2009
Oh…well if VGR says it, it’s GOT to be true…right? Because he’s so much sharper than the rest of us.
Specially us Cathlicks…
June 30, 2009
After all this time I am still trying to understand how Gene Robinson has grappled with and come to terms with those parts of scripture that say that a priest, deacon, overseer, should be husband of one wife and that homosex is an abomination? This man has divorced his wife and taken on a homosex life with another man. How did he get past the knowledge of breaking some very serious rules in scripture and continually lives in such a state of sin then has the audacity to go around making these kinds of statements?
June 30, 2009
the muslims are dying off as well , right?
June 30, 2009
ROFLOL!
Thanks, Chris. I really needed a good laugh today.
This seems to apply: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Xm1XErUvXo
June 30, 2009
That was hilarious! LOL!
June 30, 2009
What does the Catholic Church have now? 1.4 billion members? That’s sure a funny way to “die.” :p
June 30, 2009
Diane-
Helllllooooooooo!!!!!!!! 1.4 billion members is gluttony…..7 deadly sins and what not.

“A church that does not ordain women or openly gay people – I don’t see a future for that,”
Apparently “Prophesy” is not one of V. Gene’s Spiritual Gifts.
June 30, 2009
He probably doesn’t see a future for that. He’s incapable of it. We don’t need to be guided by what Robinson can’t see, however.
June 30, 2009
When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a (gay) nail.
and it’s 1.1 – 1.2 billion Catholics, maybe 200 million Orthodox, and about 77 million Anglicans, most of whom are in Global South provinces. Retrogrades ALL!
June 30, 2009
“an openly homosexual man living openly with a partner, ..”
Thanks for the reminder. Since Gene is such a recluse and is so publicity shy I am sure that detail is unknown to at least some wandering tribesman in the Gobi desert.
Is it me or is the press still disgustingly fawning over the bravery and personal sacrifice for the cause the Gene symbolizes? My golly he is OPENLY homosexual, living OPENLY. What defiance against the rag tag mob of fundies bearing down with pitchforks and torches in hand. What nobility in the face of those who would tear the sacred vestments from his very body. What dedication to all the oppressed homosexuals who struggle each day against a culture with no fashion sense. Faced with such daunting challenges a lesser man would very well toss those Judy Garland DVD’s and Stonewall memorabalia and just give it all up.
But not Gene. Why as long as there is a camera lens. As long as there is a hard up journalist. As long as there is even just one person stuck waiting for the next bus. Gene will continue to tell his story. And tell it, and tell it. Until the mini series deal comes through. Then it is to perdition with all you little people.
June 30, 2009
FW Ken — stats from last year said 1.31 billion Catholics and (I think) at least 250 million Orthodox. When I’m less brain-dead from meeting deadlines, I’ll try to look up the links. Not that it matters anyway. Whatever the more accurate numbers, the point still stands: There are a whole lot of us “dying” Cathlortodox.
But then, as KJS sez, we breed like bunny-rabbits anyway, don’t we?
June 30, 2009
+VGR: ““A church that does not ordain women or openly gay people – I don’t see a future for that,”
Why did he mention ordaining women in the same sentence as ordaining GLBT’ers? It would seem that he sees that there’s a relationship between the two. What might that be?
Whoa! Slow down. Are you trying to imply that Gene Robinson is homosexual? Where’d you get *that* from?
Is he, like, openly homosexual? I’m totally confused.
June 30, 2009
Matthew, no matter what else Bill Paxton (a native son of Fort Worth) does in his career, that will always be his most famous line.
Dear Chris,
I guess it’s time to buy stock in For Sale signs, as those will go through the roof when the CAtholic Church sells all its lands, eh?
June 30, 2009
“VGR is almost right in a sense. There is no future for a church that tries to split the difference on WO. It is a second-order issue between churches, but a first-order issue within a church. This is the lesson from the CoE. Anglo-Catholics must be given the equivalent of a separate organization within the CoE to remain.
ACNA has not yet come to terms with this reality. It is following the same flawed compromise as the CoE. To allow women to be ordained but not made bishops is incoherent, and therefore unstable. How ACNA resolves this I don’t know. The easy way is to return to the biblical witness and restrict ordination to men. But I doubt that will happen. As it stands, WO is a crack in the foundation of ACNA. Cracked foundations are dangerous.
carl”
Carl is absolutely right. But the cracked foundation extends all the way up to GAFCON. ++Orombi of Uganda ordains women also.
WO is divisive.
June 30, 2009
diane – you are probably right, but I went looking not too long ago and thought I got the 1.1 or 1.2 from a Vatican source. Of course, you know, if it’s from the Vatican, it must be wrong.
I may have said this, but it’s worth repeating: VGR and his ilk are not killing TEC, which was dying at least from the 70s. In New Hampshire particularly, the rate of decline has continued under him as it has under his predecessor, at about 2% – 3%. Pegging to the 70s raises the spectre that WO is killing TEC, but I believe the truth is that American culture began to turn against religion about then; as a creature of that culture, the Episcopal Church naturally declined. Plus, of course, with all their education (since they don’t check their minds at the door), they quit having babies (aborting the ones that slipped past the contraceptives) and that hasn’t helped their numbers.
June 30, 2009
How did he get past the knowledge of breaking some very serious rules in scripture and continually lives in such a state of sin then has the audacity to go around making these kinds of statements?
TLDillon, why the bafflement? He’s a theological liberal, and liberals as a rule have low view of scripture, ie they do not believe in inspiration. They often disbelieve the supernatural entirely, or think God would be incapable of communicating with us, even if he did exist. Thus the Bible is a mere human work, fit to be critiqued by them. They think Jesus was being a mean, nasty bigot when he rebuffed the Caananite woman.
So why would you be surprised that Robinson is able to filter out what he doesn’t like, and regard his own emotions as more “inspired” than those passages? They got the core message right, but still had a lot of primitive baggage they hadn’t got around to discarding. Robinson is further along the path of enlightenment that even Christ himself, let alone Paul. That’s how he grapples with scripture: he edits it out with a clear conscience.
Note: Lest you think I’m being harsh, liberals only really get upset if you say they are not Christian.
But in the above I don’t think I’ve said anything they’d disagree with about their beliefs. I haven’t mischaracterized those, just read anything by Bultmann or Spong, for goodness’ sake.
June 30, 2009
Dear dear Vickie: name one church that has one or both of the attributes you deem to be essentail for survival into the future that is actually surviving and growing in numbers.
June 30, 2009
Do you mean to tell me that an allegedly “Christian” church has a practicing homosexual for a “bishop?” Why, shut my mouf! And this homosexual says that churches who do not have practicing homosexuals and women as priests and bishops are doomed? Well, darn! I was hoping to visit St. Peter’s in Rome someday and the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow, but it looks like both will be up on the “For Sale” block long before I ever get there. By the way, wasn’t this homosexual “bishop” once a “straight” person? I mean, a wife and children type? Wha’ happened? An “epiphany?” “evolution?” Is any church that doesn’t have previously “straight” and subsequently divorced practicing homosexuals as bishops also doomed? I’m so confused. Must be reading the wrong Bible or something. Wish this homosexual “bishop” would get out of New Hampshire once in a blue moon and speak to the media and enlighten us all.
July 1, 2009
Of course, there are two ways in which Robinson doesn’t see a “future” for such churches:
1) He falsely, and in spite of evidence to the contrary, assumes that liberal theology will attract more people. I’ve yet to see a church sustain that does.
OR
2) He foresees a political movement designed to close such churches.
Since numbers favor us in #1, my gut tells me he’s rooting for – and would support #2.
July 1, 2009
I don’t think Robinson is really a homosexual. I think he’s just trying to get attention.
July 1, 2009
Ho-Hum
Do not fear groups or movements who do not reproduce. They will eventually breed themselves out of existence.
July 1, 2009
Of course VGR is a sodomite, J.Scott!!! What’s more, Frank Lombard, who’s now accused of child-sodomy against his own adopted son, is supposed to be a fan of his according to VirtueOnLine (http://www.virtueonline.org/portal/modules/news/article.php?storyid=10731).
I don’t care how “homophobic” people will see me as being – I’d FAR rather be a homophobe than a “heterophobe”. As to what Amy P. has written: yours truly thinks she’s more than right about that wretch VGR wanting a political organization that will close any and ALL churches that follow Christ!!!
In fact, I had the most horrible fortune to read a letter quoted in good part by Donna & Chuck McIlhenny in their book “When the WICKED Seize A City”, which lays out exactly what the militant sodomites eventually intend to impose upon ABSOLUTELY EVERYBODY of their country and even the whole wide world. It truly is a homosexual’s manifesto just as much – and written with most of the same language!! – as any Communist-Manifesto could ever be written. You can find it on pages 212-214 of the above-mentioned book.
While I’m prepared to quote it in a subsequent posting if people want to read it here, it’s such a long letter that it would take up a lot of space which I suspect people would rather not have done: to boot, it’s one of the most sickening pieces of pure, unadulterated POISON I’ve ever read if not THE WORST of them all!!!!
What it outlines is a society where human reproduction will be exterminated (all future offspring to be grown in test-tubes!), all heterosexual intercourse and relations will be destroyed and wiped out from the memory of mankind, all previous history will be rewritten to suit these Communists’ agenda, etc. etc. – the PERFECT thing to exterminate all flesh from this planet indeed as Jesus Warned us in the Gospels!!!! Such is the vision of those sodomite COMMIES!!! If things EVER come to that, I’d likely kill myself rather than let them have my death after their no doubt inflicting the most unspeakable tortures I could possibly imagine…
Just another typical day for Gene, Gene the Media Machine! No future in churches which don’t ordain women and homosexuals.
Who woulda thunk it! Thanks for letting us know why ECUSA is dying, Gene!
July 2, 2009
[...] and is openly homosexual (and currently lives with his “partner”), had the following comment to make about the new Anglican Church of North [...]
July 2, 2009
Of course VGR is a sodomite, J.Scott!!!
I don’t know, Sasha. Vicky Gene talks the talk, but does he walk the walk?
July 2, 2009
I’ve most positively no doubt about Mr. VGR walking the walk! That’s ALL he talks about while leaving his “diocese” to rot!!!!
While we’re at it: the quoted paragraph under “And A Dollar Short” is from the McIlhenny book mentioned above under this column. If that’s what homosexuals are out to do to the rest of us, I could really gladly shout then “Long Live Homophobia!!!”, for those who complain about it are such true Commies that don’t deserve anything else!!
July 3, 2009
If VGR is going to go around bragging that he’s a homosexual, we should demand proof!
July 3, 2009
He’s bragging about it because he has no open, honest shame about being one. [If it's there, it has been totally suppressed beneath his "'Gay-PRIDE'" exterior!] It is a Communistic tactic of propaganda and attack (à la Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”: “Fair is foul and foul is fair.”).
July 4, 2009
Maybe he’s faking it and “bragging” about it because it gets him lots of attention, positive discrimination and pity as a victim of alleged social injustice. It makes him a martyr to the “progressive” cause and one of the Left’s fair-haired boys.Maybe he’s faking it and “bragging” about it because it gets him lots of attention, positive discrimination and pity as a victim of alleged social injustice. It makes him a martyr to the “progressive” cause and one of the Left’s fair-haired boys.
And since it gets him all these perks, status and cred, I think we should demand proof that he’s a poof!
Why should we take his word for it?

Oops, sorry — dunno how that echo got in here.
