SECESH

There are two possibilties. The Confederate States of America has just at least doubled in size. Or absolutely nobody in this country is serious:
1. Sequestration cuts of $85 billion are impossibly painful, the equivalent of asking Uncle Sam to perform an appendectomy on himself with a nail file, but
2. ObamaCare adding $6.2 trillion to the deficit – nearly 75 times the size of the sequester – is no big deal… and even that new projection might under-estimate its cost, because
3. ObamaCare includes a massive expansion of Medicaid, which reluctant states like Florida, and now New Jersey, have been bribed to accept with bags of federal money, and
4. We’re about to extend citizenship to a huge new population of people who will soon enough qualify for this expanded Medicaid coverage – it’s inconceivable that their “access” to such programs will not be swiftly demanded, but
5. Obama’s releasing waves of illegal immigrants from detention because he says that tiny sequestration spending cut makes it impossible to keep them in custody.
Either way, I’m having a tough time continuing to give a crap.

I’m having a tough time continuing to give a crap.
That’s the liberal goal. I confess I have the same problem at times. We’re dealing with a saturation of left-biased propaganda. Just the existence of such forums as the MCJ is a beacon in the night.
Keep up the good work CJ.

I saw the news about releasing all the ILLEGAL immigrants earlier today and immediately assumed that was a direct diktat from Obama.

I don’t always agree with some of Limbaugh’s hyperbole, but the amount of sequester hysteria is ridiculous.
Every mayor or governor or school board head who faces cuts of 1-2% or decreases in the rates of increase and decides to lay off cops and fire fighters, or teachers first to inflict the most pain instead of the legions of bureaucrats and administrators or cutting travel or other expenses should be attacked with pitchforks and torches like villagers going after Frankenstein.
It’s extortion, plain and simple. Government looks after government first and foremost.
February 27, 2013
I think our ancients forebears used to call this “penny wise, pound foolish”
February 27, 2013
The hysteria over modest reductions to spending increases is exceeded in stupidity only by the people who believe it (or say they do).
February 27, 2013
Let me see. We won’t have enough money to defend the law, but we will have enough for a First Family vacation in some exotic location.
February 27, 2013
You could believe that this country had not reached the tipping point until the last election. That, combined with the MSM becoming an adjunct of the WH press office, and the GOP being unwilling to stand up and yell “Horse SH*T!” at every opportunity, makes it hard to have much emotional commitment. As a good Catholic friend said, despair is a sin, but realism is not. We have twice elected a what used to be called a Third World dictator, steeped in “Chicago Values.”
February 27, 2013
Lets see if i have this right:
we are told we cannot deport 12 to 15 million illegals, but we can take
300 million guns from legal owners.
The POTUS should get an Oscar nomination for this.

Like in secession?
Oh man. The liberal blog police report back to Obama and the cadre of liberal comrades. Any blogger discussing secession is marked and branded for sedition and treason to the Glorious Leader.
Christopher Johnson, ++Katherine Jefferts Schori and President Obama will engage you in Indaba Love to re-orient you to the Loving Unity of Liberalism.
If voters do not punish Obama and the Demorats in the 2014 mid-terms, that may be the last straw for me. That could turn me secessionist. I’m serious.
I love America, but I hate tyranny.
And Obama is warring against red states already. Note that releases are in red Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, and in purple Florida. Has anyone heard of a release in California? Hmmmm?
I am gobsmacked that the Congress lets Obama get away with this kind of stupidity. He is breaking the law. At some point, this has to reach the level of “high crimes and misdemeanors…”
Rush led off his show today with the release and stated, “This is an impeachable offense.”
BTW, the above link I posted is probably dead thanks to blogger. The post is now here: http://wannabeanglican.blogspot.com/2013/02/downfall-vi-obama-uses-sequestration.html
Sorry for the bother.
February 27, 2013
Ah, Wannabe, I was going to tell you it didn’t work.
This is deliberate, intentional incompetent management. It’s outrageous, it’s illegal, and if we can’t impeach Obama we ought at least to impeach Napolitano.

The Wicked Witch of Chicago releases the flying monkeys of Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt.
Once again.

The House could impeach him, this Senate would not convict him.
I’m convinced: The American Expitiment has finally failed.
February 27, 2013
I’ve been of the opinion for the last decade that the American Experiment had failed. But it failed long before our time. We’re just unlucky-enough to live through the long-overdue collapse.

“The Athenian Oath
This oath was taken by the young men of ancient
Athens when they reached the age of seventeen.
We will never bring disgrace on this our City by an act of dishonesty or cowardice.
We will fight for the ideals and Sacred Things of the City both alone and with many.
We will revere and obey the City’s laws, and will do our best to incite a like reverence and respect in those above us who are prone to annul them or set them at naught.
We will strive increasingly to quicken the public’s sense of civic duty.
Thus in all these ways we will transmit this City, not only not less, but greater and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”
The Obamian Oath
We will take what we have been given and turn it into a pile of c**p, bankrupting the generations that follow us, ignoring the laws and engaging in dishonesty and moral cowardice, all the while lining the pockets of those who have put us into political office. Thus in all ways we will transmit this Country in a condition, not better, but far less than what was given to us four years ago. (Six years, if the two years of Democrat Congressional control pre-Obama are counted.)
@Wannabe -
This should make your blood boil even more. Obama is now directly jeopardizing our national security and unfortunately, the Navy is playing along (in its own version of Fiscal Chicken?
Aircraft carrier maintenance & refueling delayed…

“The Madness of King Obama.” I wonder if his urine is turning blue. Next step will be his “Caligula Moment” when he makes his dog a Senator.
I also have pretty much stopped giving a crap and concentrate on my kids, brothers and long-time friends. With social security and care from the VA I’m doing fine. And I don’t even have to worry about dying – the Obama Death Panel will make that decision for me.
Is this a great country or what!
I haven’t seen the Pope’s resignation blamed on the sequester . . . yet.
February 28, 2013
It’s an interesting contrast, Wannabe. On the one hand, all the world focused on the Pope, retiring to pray for the church. On the other, a President who claims the upcoming sequester signals the end of the world as we know it, and he’s doing absolutely nothing to prevent the disaster he claims is coming, nor is his party’s leader in the Senate. I take the Pope seriously; the President, not at all.
