HOSTILE ENTITY
Saturday, October 27th, 2012 | Uncategorized
If these recommendations are accepted, the United Nations will change from a pretentious nuisance to a legitimate enemy of this country:
The Washington Free Beacon has obtained a report soon to be released by the United Nations that calls for an international campaign of legal attacks and economic warfare on a group of American companies that do business in Israel, including Hewlett-Packard, Caterpillar Inc., and Motorola Solutions Inc.
The report is the product of some of the worst nations in the world.
The Human Rights Council (HRC), a body dominated by Islamic countries and known for its hostility to, and heavy focus on, the Jewish State, issued the report. The George W. Bush administration refused to participate in the HRC, but President Barack Obama joined it soon after taking office. Members of the HRC include infamous human rights abusers such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Libya, China, and Cuba.
This idiot basically oversaw the thing.
The Obama-approved body maintains a “Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories [sic].” The current rapporteur is American college professor Richard Falk, a 9/11 “truther” who once posted an anti-Semitic cartoon on his personal blog.
The recommendations in this report go far beyond the usual UN toothless resolutions.
The report attempts to instigate a campaign of boycott, divestment, sanctions, and legal action against a litany of international companies doing business in Israel. In addition to American companies, the U.N. targets include major European firms such as Veolia Environnement, Group 4 Security, the Dexia Group, the Volvo Group.
If you work for one of these companies, I hope you’re not overly-fond of international travel or you may end up staying abroad a whole lot longer than you intended to.
“The costs to companies and businesses of failing to respect international humanitarian law are considerable,” the report warns, “including damage to a company’s public image, impact on shareholder decisions and share price and could result in employees being criminally responsible for rights abuses.”
The report warns American employees of targeted companies that they face legal risks.
“Employees of companies can face investigation and prosecution for human rights violations committed irrespective of where the violation was committed.”
Attention Episcopal Church. If this monstrosity is adopted, “engagement” is no longer an option because that entity you revere will have officially chosen sides.
Should the companies continue doing business in Israel, the Human Rights Council “calls on civil society to actively pursue legal and political redress against non-complying business” and “to vigorously pursue initiatives to boycott, divest and sanction the businesses highlighted in this report” and “calls on the international community to consider requesting an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice” to punish the businesses.
I realize that Israel owes its existence to this ridiculous entity. But why that country still wishes to remain associated with something that clearly despises it as much as the United Nations does completely escapes me.
“Get out of the UN!” used to be a crackpot position in American politics but it’s becoming more and more mainstream by the day. Publicly advocate it here the media will label you crazy even though you’d be surprised at the number of votes you’d win.

Volvo makes armored vehicles, G4S carry guns (and have been know to be indiscriminate) and Caterpillar will build a new parking lot in your living-room.
I’d like to see the letter to the UN telling them to pack up and move out republished.
Israel should put Mosad back to doing what they do best and try to prove it.

We built their bloody building on some of the most valuable real estate in NYC, they operate on US contributions to cover the ‘dues’ of defaulting member nations, absorb the enormous utility bills, and for this get treated like WE are the unwelcome guest!
Except for those who have live on the island, I would almost say, ‘Thy will be done on Monday’.

The fact that Islamic countries make up a good number of the members of the “Human Rights” group of the UN is ironic in the extreme. I’m no Zionist at all, but the State of Israel has just as much right to exist as any of them. If one wants to find the problems in the Middle East, they are wasting their time if they are pointing fingers at Israel.
As things sit now, let Israel waste all these morons. I’m thinking the Israeli army would make short work out of a bunch of half-wits trying to shoot AKs gangsta-style.

The UN is built on a a world-view that no longer exists. The original idea was that it would be the creature of the U.S., Britain, France and the U.S.S.R., with the Security Council overseeing things.
Britain is now a back-water socialist dump, France is soon to be mooslim and the former U.S.S.R. pays no attention to the UN. With all of the decolonization after WWII and the rise of the mooslim terrorist states, the UN is now merely an international gangster entity dedicated to birth control, anti-Western rhetoric and the destruction of Israel.
It is long past time that this “dream” of FDR be consigned to the rubbish heap of history. And the first step is getting rid of the Kenyan Communist on November 6. He is much more a United Nationist than anything resembling an American.
Vote for the American on November 6!

O/T – The system “ate” two of my posts – one on the UN thread and the other on the kids singing thread.
I only bring this up because it is highly unfair to deprive the hundreds, nay, thousands of posters and readers of the treasure of my wit and wisdom, on which they on the edges of their seats sit and stuff and wait.
Gnome sane?
October 28, 2012
Hmm, one more reason to vote against O.

No, Don, the system is working as designed …
Cheers

This system seldom loses anything anymore, Don. It just routes stuff into spam now and then for no particular reason. Drives me up a wall but I check it several times a day.

It will never get through the Senate as a treaty, so phooey on them. “Human rights” which do not include Jews are inhuman.
The UN “Human Rights”(snort, giggle, tee-hee) Commission became a thoroughly sick joke the year that Iran became chairman of the Commission.
Like so many other UN entities, it is an institution that has died because of the cynicism and stupidly of that meaningless organization.
Time to shut it down and make those free-loaders go back home.

“…the U.N. targets include major European firms such as Veolia Environnement, Group 4 Security, the Dexia Group, the Volvo Group.”
Well, there you go! This’ll never get off the ground because the Volvo XC90 is the SUV of choice among rich liberals.

I’ve been wondering for several years if the UN was already a legitimate enemy of this country.

Woe to them who fail to see the real wolf disguised as a “well meaning” lamb. Between one small nation called Israel, and an entire crescent of the world surface stretching from Morocco to Indonesia professing the most intolerant world domination movement disguised as a religion and in deliberate breach of the most fundamental human rights, including those in the Human Rights Charter of the UN itself, and claiming the support of 1,32 billion people, who is the greater threat to humanity?
It is about the UN was given a wake up. Until such time as the UN returns to an international organization acting purely upon a UN Charter of (ABSOLUTE) Human rights focussing on preventing international and internecine wars, there should be no funding to the UN by any western nation particularly for proposals designed to impose factional political agendas. Or else. Just let it slowly disintegrate into an irrelevant rabble.
October 28, 2012
This is just the Islamic Machine testing its strength, probing for weak spots. I trust it will fail but I presume there will be more attempts, on a wide variety of fronts, to undermine the West.
LaValette sez –
Or else. Just let it slowly disintegrate into an irrelevant rabble.
I would say it already has reached that stage. It is nothing more than a platform for anti-American sentiment and advocacy.
October 28, 2012
And it says nothing about human rights of those bombarded by rockets and gunfire by the Palestinians.
I expect the BC or Ontario HRC will support this without reading past the title and Huff-n-Puff media reports.
I question the journalistic credibility from an organization that has a sideboob page. I thought that was all about Joe Biden, apparently not.

Steve L.,
Re Volvo: last I heard it was owned by the Chinese. What a tangle!
Having the UN in NYC follows the old adage: Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer!
October 29, 2012
Where the UN has gone wrong is not recognizing that Israel won the Six Days war and that land now belongs to Israel. It isn’t “occupied” Palestinian territory. Get over it.
October 29, 2012
Michal I’m sure the Chinese will sit up and take notice of their beloved mooslim cousins and consider how they can advance human rights on this planet.
After all isn’t Tibet the Chinese Palestine?
Excuse while my doctor gives me more rose coloured medication.
October 29, 2012
Steve L.,
The “tangle” I had in mind was along the lines of “O, what a tangled web we weave…”…LibProgs being deceitful and all. It must take a lot of work sometimes to be so politically ‘correct’. Free Tibet!
