You would think that a group of people mistreated in the past (homosexual acts are sinful, but the people who perform them are made in God’s image, just like the rest of us sinners) would see the horror in acts like this, in which they become what they profess to hate.

Assuming this is a legitimate assault case, I hope the perpetrator is promptly found and locked up. At face value, this is an outrage.

There have been a sad number of self-inflicted hate crimes, for attention, and presumably the police are looking the whole thing over to be sure they do the right thing.

No, Chris M, unfortunately there have been quite a number of cases. There was a woman who claimed KKK people burned her in her car; this was recently in Louisiana. Police determined she did it herself. There have been several cases of gay activists faking assault cases on themselves. There are also cases in which the assault occurred as described. Just because this guy is pro-Romney doesn’t mean we automatically accept his description of the event, and I’m sure the police will look it over to see if the evidence supports the charge. They do this, we hope, in any reported crime. Therefore, assuming he was indeed assaulted, I hope they catch the bad guy. I haven’t seen any updates; have you?
