I really want to make some cutting remark about western environmentalists but this is just so sad. Still, the important question so seldom gets asked: when they say something is bad, shouldn’t we ask “compared to what”? Things exist for a reason and before we undo them, we ought to think about what worse thing will happen.

We have Rachel Carson and her junk science to thank for this.

Having traveled fairly extensively through eastern Africa a few years ago, I’ve seen this first hand. What is sad is that this is an easy problem to fix, but because of all the terrible local and tribal politics, nothing can ever get done. Money gets siphoned off to corrupt politicians and gang leaders, supplies are stolen and resold on the black market. Something as simple as mosquito netting would be a tremendous help for most people, but their societies are so broken across that continent large scale distribution of them is futile. They won’t get to the people who need them. I wish I had an answer.

Curse the Greenie Weenies! What they really want is the extermination of the human race.

DDT is the best available near-term answer. Unless birds are more valuable than humans – which is, in fact, what many liberals believe.

This is what we get when we worship idols. The thing that irritates me most about the enviro-whacks is their self-righteous pride in the correctness of their “cause.”

It does not matter what others can offer counterproofs to their arguments. They are RIGHT and will brook no interference, no matter what damage their “solutions” might cause.

Well, they may not be right, but they’re NEVER WRONG.

Kinda like the idiots that run the national queer church, eh?

“Frequently wrong but never in doubt” comes to mind.

AP+ – you got that right!

skeptic5 – I like your pithy statement, too!

Both are apt.
